CONTEST WINNER VIDEO ANNOUNCEMENT!

www.rockeyez.com HEAD INTERVIEW

Interviewed by Brian Rademacher
Date: August 2008
Official Site:www.brianheadwelch.net/
Myspace site: www.myspace.com/brianheadwelch

Brian Welch: Hi, this is Brian Welch

Brian Rademacher: Hey man, this is Brian from RockEyez

Brian Welch: Cool name, how’s it going today? Where are you?

Brian Rademacher: New Jersey

Brian Welch: Yeah, I’m in Dallas, TX

Brian Rademacher: Congratulation on your debut release “Save Me from Myself”, it received 5 out of 5 stars on our site. The album has a strong message and if people really look into the lyrics they’ll get the message. Do you feel people will be shocked by the intensity of the lyrics? For instance my wife goes to church and rings the bells, I don’t think she would ever listen to your album because the vocals are raw and she is more into mellow or “angelic” stuff. Do you think you can reach out to people like that?

Brian Welch: Thanks bro, that’s awesome. Probably not (laughing), not with that kind of music on that CD, it’s a rocking CD, that’s me. There’s some lighter stuff for the type of people like your wife that like the angelic kind of stuff, the soft stuff. I like that stuff too but as far as me reaching out to people, No I don’t think they’ll like it (laughing). Tell your wife to listen to it and read along with the lyrics and she will see what I’m trying to do.

Brian Rademacher: Looking through your long career in music do you feel you started taking drugs because of the harassment you had during your school years?

Brian Welch: I think it all had a play in my life and my dad arguing with him all my life and not feeling good about myself; not being able to be good enough for him and believing in myself. I never felt comfortable in my own skin, so I always had to drink to hang out with the guys and girls specially. If you’re not comfortable with yourself you want to escape and become someone else and that’s what the drugs and alcohol did for me.

Thank you Head (my testimony)

I just want to thank Brian for making this album and sharing with the world his life so honestly. I've never heard truth said so plainly in this way before. I just want to share some things, because if any of us say the truth, it destroys this world's ugly lies. Each song speaks so clearly to me, and helps me in my journey, in a way I haven't found anywhere.

Former KORN Guitarist BRIAN 'HEAD' WELCH Schedules 'Rockline' Appearance - Oct. 16, 2008

San Antonio cult TV show "Robb's MetalWorks" has released a preview of a recently conducted interview with Head. The six-minute clip, which was filmed on September 19, 2008 in Dallas, Texas, also features interviews with fans that attended Welch's in-store signing at Borders Books & Music. Watch it below.

"Robb's MetalWorks" will air the 30-minute interview in its entirety during the December 21 episode.

Welch's solo album, "Save Me From Myself", sold 7,800 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 63 on The Billboard 200 chart. The CD was released on September 9 through Driven Music Group (distribution by Ryko/Warner Music Group), the label Welch co-founded with music execs Greg Shanaberger and Mark Nawara.

"Save Me From Myself" was produced by Head, who recorded the music off and on for the past two years in Phoenix, Arizona. It features renowned musicians Tony Levin (PETER GABRIEL, DAVID BOWIE) and Josh Freese (A PERFECT CIRCLE, NINE INCH NAILS), and was mixed by Ralph Patlan and Bob Clearmountain. It's a testimony of Head's life as he battled with drug addiction and leaving KORN, and finding spirituality.
